Pension Administrative Analyst

Self-administered multi-employer Defined Benefit Plan located in Fairfax, VA seeks qualified applicants for the position of Pension Administrative Analyst.

Basic Function:
The Pension Administrative Analyst is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and operational support for the Graphic Arts Industry Joint Pension Trust. This position performs a variety of pension fund administration functions requiring accuracy, attention to detail, confidentiality, organization, and sound judgment. The Pension Administrative Analyst is responsible for verifying remittance entries and bank deposits, processing and recording incoming contributions, maintaining accurate participant and employer information in the ISSI and Berwyn systems, and assisting with pension application processing and related tracking.

The position also supports the administration of pension benefits by providing pension applications and estimates to participants and Local Unions, processing direct deposit changes and 1099-R corrections, maintaining and updating census information, researching returned mail and participant addresses, and responding to inquiries from participants, Local Unions, and other stakeholders.

In addition to pension and financial administration responsibilities, the Pension Administrative Analyst provides general office support, including processing and distributing mail, maintaining files and records, coordinating general mailings, monitoring office supplies and equipment, and responding to telephone, email, and fax inquiries. The position plays an important role in ensuring the Fund's day-to-day administrative operations run efficiently, and that accurate and timely service is provided to participants, employers, and Local Unions.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Verify the accuracy of Remittance Entries entered in ISSI.
  • Check the accuracy of bank lockbox deposits.
  • Deposit incoming checks using Digital Check Che Xpress.
  • Enter all deposits into the Cash Receipts spreadsheet.
  • Mail monthly Employer Contribution Reports.
  • Date and organize copies of completed remittance reports and mail them to Local Unions.
  • Manage Direct Deposit changes.
  • Process 1099R duplicates and corrections; mail 1096 when needed to the IRS
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming mail.
  • Initial set-up of Pension Applications, including updating information in ISSI and updating the pension application tracker spreadsheet.
  • Review and update ISSI and Berwyn information received from the Benevolent Trust Fund.
  • Provide pension applications and estimates to plan participants and local unions.
  • Track and research valid addresses for Suspended Pensioners and all other mail returned from the post office.
  • Work closely with Local Unions responding to their questions/requests and provide support.
  • Handle Employee Confirmation Statements by sorting, filing, updating census information in ISSI and Berwyn portal, and answering questions.

Qualifications:

  • College degree or comparable work experience.
  • Strong analytical, writing and math skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to produce work accurately, thoroughly and timely to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments while actively participating and supporting a team environment.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Windows (Outlook, Word and Excel).
