Outreach and Partnership Director

Position Overview:
The Outreach and Partnership Director will support the mission of the National Labor Alliance of Healthcare Coalitions (NLA) by developing and executing marketing campaigns, building strategic partnerships, conducting outreach, tracking sales activities for endorsed and recommended vendors, and expanding the NLA's awareness and network.

Major Responsibilities

1. General Support

  • Fulfill all responsibilities assigned by the President, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors.
  • Uphold and ensure the integrity, reputation, and mission of the NLA.
  • Keep the Executive Committee informed of all significant NLA business and developments.
  • Attend Executive Committee meetings via teleconference.

2. Program Development

  • Evaluate member needs on an ongoing basis and identify new program opportunities to meet those needs.
  • Identify and pursue new revenue streams to support the growth and sustainability of the NLA.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with service providers, utilizing professional advisors when appropriate.
  • Provide timely and accurate program information to member Coalitions and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate vendor and sponsorship opportunities to enhance member engagement and organizational value.

3. Outreach and Engagement

  • Develop and implement initiatives to retain current members and increase membership.
  • Implement public relations and outreach activities to promote the NLA’s mission and strengthen its image within the labor and benefits communities.
  • Attend and represent the organization at relevant events and networking opportunities.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with referral sources, member coalitions, and other partners.
  • Promote the organization’s services to potential clients, community agencies, and key stakeholders through various channels (print, digital, in-person).
  • Maintain outreach and referral tracking systems, prepare reports on engagement metrics, and analyze the effectiveness of campaigns.
  • Assist with high-level coordination of onboarding of key vendors, if needed.
  • Disseminate information to member Coalitions through the NLA website, social media, newsletters, and other communication channels.

Qualifications

  • Experience in nonprofit healthcare marketing, outreach, or community engagement roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public presentations.
  • Ability to effectively use digital marketing tools and social media platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Passion for healthcare equity and supporting the labor movement.

Hours & Compensation

  • Part-time: Typically 60 hours/month. Flexible scheduling with occasional evening or weekend events.
  • Compensation proposal:
  • Base: $35,000
  • Commission: Payment of 5% of all NLA membership and vendor revenue, paid quarterly
  • Reimbursement of travel expenses in accordance with the NLA expense policy and up to $30/month cell phone reimbursement
