Captive Resources

For four decades, Captive Resources has provided mid-market companies the ability to become insurance company owners rather than insurance buyers and to lower their total cost of risk. We do this through the creation, development, and oversight of member-owned group captive insurance companies. We currently advise more than 50 Property & Casualty and Medical Stop Loss group captives comprising 7,500+ member-companies and $5.5+ billion in annual premium. We support every aspect of the captives, from claims advocacy and operational oversight to risk management, financial services, regulatory compliance, investment services, and more. 

Medical Stop Loss captive member-companies range from 50 to 5,000 employee lives, across all 50 states and representing nearly all industry segments. Through our Medical Stop Loss Insurance and Health Solutions platform, we help employers and their broker/consultant partners take greater control of healthcare risk while benefiting from underwriting discipline, transparency, and long-term financial stability within a captive structure.

In addition, we offer aligned solutions through our Vendor Services team to help our members manage and contain medical and prescription costs.  Captive Resources also helps navigate the complexity of concepts and tools an employer-sponsored health insurance plan may utilize through collaboration with our Health Risk Management team.
