EEOC Schedules Public Hearing on Removal of Reporting Requirements for August 11

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday, August 11 from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET, to gather information and hear public comment on its proposed rulemaking – Rescission of EEO Reports (EEO-1, EEO-2, EEO-3, EEO-4, EEO-5, EEO-6) and related recordkeeping and record preservation requirements.
Section 709(c) of title VII of the Civil Rights Act requires that, before imposing any new or changed recordkeeping or reporting requirements it deems “reasonable, necessary, or appropriate for the enforcement” of title VII, the Commission must hold a public hearing. 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-8(c).
